well...they are such different beverages, i don't think they can be compared. Coffee is good after-meals and waking up, obviously. Nothing is better then the smell of coffee brewing first thing in on a chilly morning. Coffee is more like part of dessert, with just enough sugar to make it pallatable, and as Timo said, REAL cream for flavour.
Tea, prefferably hot, is best for MOOD in my opinion. In this case, NO SUGAR so as to enjoy the natural flavor of the herbs. My favorite is Chai, no cream. Chai, if you've never had it, is spicy and flavourful...even containing black pepper. It warms the belly.
ICED tea is up there with soda...sorry.

I do drink coffee when i do stuff for Scouts. Gives me that insta-buzz i need. Coffee is good with coffee cakes. I drink it black, but with creme and sugar when i need caffeine and there's nothing else around.
Tea is good for mood. While i was writing this, stone cold steve austin just said that he got his name from a stranger over a cup of hot tea at his house...lol...I dislike chai. It's alright, and i'll drink it, but i think that it's overspiced taste kills off all other flavors. Tension Tamer and Authentic Green Tea by Celestial Seasonings has flavors that are so distinct that i can pick out the peppermint, ginger, cinnamon, lemon and chamomile ingredients. Chai tea, no matter the type, tastes the same.
cream only makes tea taste good sometimes...hard to tell when ur in the mood for it.
iced green tea is perfect when i don't have enough time to make a hot cup. plus the stuff i buy is 24oz so it'll fill me up good...
