Don't turn this into a religion/beleif flame war, or I'll close this.
Williambob, your previous post makes it perfectly clear that you said GOD didn't make the hurricane, yet in 2 newer posts you are getting into a religion-based conversation that is off-topic.
Besides, anyone with intelligence knows GOD is a dictator.
Anyway, I just heard on Sky News (UK) that a storm that would result ina  tornado was being detected over Birmingham again, but it passed by....our climate is getting REALLY unstable, it is a clear view that global warming has paid a huge contribution to the strenght and mass-production of these Hurricanes.

Why would anyone even think that, the world has always been corrupt, look at the Roman Empire, those dudes murdered eachother for entertainment, god didn't let a giant hurricane loose on them. America may be a corrupt country on modern terms, but we aint as bad as them, and nothin happend to them.

They're gone ain't they?  I believe it was barbarians that came and sacked Rome.  What about Pompeii?

Yeah, nothing happened to Rome!

I mean no natural disasters, the fall of Rome was caused by other people, thats different.

Fifth Dynasty, just because he said God is mean does NOT make him an Atheist. Also, insulting other people because of their religious beliefs is childish and unnecessary.

Except for when you do it in the company of good non-religious friends.  :)

Oh, shut-up, you Athiest *insert deragatory (sp?) words here*

Of course God didn't create a hurricane. It's weather. I'm a Christian, yes, but I don't think God controls the weather.

If you're a Christian then you know that God controls everything.

Let's go back to Pompeii.  Volcanic eruption if I'm not mistaken.  Pretty natural.

I actually believe that George Bush created the hurricane with his magical weather powers.

That was natural, but it took the empire years to fall after that. Thats the point, natural stuff like that happens all the time, god doesn't make it happen.

Whatever.  Pompeii was one of the more immoral sects of Rome, don't tell me God didn't take them down.  They deserved it.

The Roman empire fell due to poor leadership.

First of all as a Catholic, we have never blamed gods for things like. THey teach us the opposite so I don't know where you are getting your information from.

I think it's funny that the Pagan (is that right Lynne?) girl knows more about the Bible than half of the "Christians".

GOD doesn't own me. I own me. So he cannot control me. :p

Hurricane Wilma is what we should be talking about now, Katrina is long gone and Wilma could do more damage.

Way to avoid religious debate there, Sarah.

You complain about it being religious debate, and then make a comment like that, so in essence, the religious debate that's ensuing is YOUR fault.  Good job.

Anyway, I still don't believe a 1 degree increase in the average temperature around the world is causing this many bad hurricanes.  I think it's a matter of one year where everything seems to be magnified.  We'll be back to normal next year.

I used to be a church going girl of the United Church of Canada. Then I went to a Catholic school, and knew twice as much as any of the Catholic students. ^_^ And that's where I became pagan. :)
