Topic: God didn't create Katrina to punish people

I'm tired of Christian groups and other people saying that God created Katrina in order to punish the people because of the sins.  My catholic religion teacher told us that God would never intended to punish the people of their sins by creating a huge natural disaster.  When God gave Noah the convent of a rainbow he promised he would never create a disaster in order to rid the world of their sins.

What if God has no control over Earths natural disasters such as hurracaines. We cant blame anything on God or blame anything on anyone without any real proof.

Actually, God promised not to flood the whole world again, not use natural disasters. After all, if you read Revelations, it prophecies such natural disasters happening.

In any case, I'm pagan and believe it is Mother Earth who has caused these natural disasters. She is weeping.

This is talking about old events. Global Warming brought about the strong hurricanes....constant disruptions to the Earths surface caused the severe earthquakes and resulting in tsunamis.

Why would anyone even think that, the world has always been corrupt, look at the Roman Empire, those dudes murdered eachother for entertainment, god didn't let a giant hurricane loose on them. America may be a corrupt country on modern terms, but we aint as bad as them, and nothin happend to them.
