Boulevard of Broken MP3s
« on: February 01, 2007, 02:04:29 am »
*sings* I walk this empty street, on the Boulevard of Broken MP3s, where the city sleeps...

OK, my MP3 Player's been through a lot of battering through the 1.9 years I've had it. First the flap protecting the insert for the Sony cable broke off, but that didn't really cause any defict to it. Then a few months ago, I lost the cable that connects it to the computer, so I can't add any more new songs to it. Then I dropped it in Paris last week and the battery lid broke a bit and could no longer keep the battery in on its own, so I have to secure it down with sticky tape. Finally I got a scare today when the battery lid actually came clean off!! Fortunately, I managed to stick it back on.
But despite that, I can still listen to music, and all of its functions still work. Would any of you say that the damage done to it recently is enough to qualify as broken good and proper?

It's the one that looks like a cigarette lighter.

I recommend getting another brand. Like SanDisk or something.

I hate to be a wet blanket, but it does actually still play music. The only thing really wrong with it is that I can't upload songs to it anymore and that the sticky tape needs replacing once in a while.

OK, supposing the damage was severe enough to need replacement. Which brand should I get?
Like SanDisk or something.
Never heard of them. Can I get a briefer?

sandisk products are friggin great

if your headphones support the sound, they'll deliver

I had one of their smaller 512mb players, and it put out perfect audio on my headphones...

I'd only get a refurb from them, cause then their prices compete with sandisk....
