This is the only thing I wrote for high school that I was proud of. We had to write parodies. There were some God-awful ones but I like this.
Now, this is a story all about how
My life was lived up until now
And I'd like to take a minute
Just listen to me
I'll tell you the life story of Mr. Jackie
In North Carolina, born and raised
Watching lotsa cartoons, how I spent most of my days
In retrospect I guess I was lazy
I suppose I should be out smelling those daisies
Then I had to get up
Had to go to school
Had to prove to the world that I do rule
I get one little "F" and my parents start to freak
They say "What do you want, to turn out weak?"
I kept going steady, just passing by
Getting those A's, like I needed to try
And that's the time when I finally realized
That life is more then what's before your eyes
Now we're into my high school years
How ignorant I was, so full of cheers
Nothing really changed, nothing at all
'Cept for all my friends seemed to get tall
Heard college might, well, will be real hard
Guess I'll wait till I see my report card
Back to the present
Everything's alright
Me and my homies are all tight
Summer now is almost done
All this work I am beginning to shun
Still always gotta be on the attack
But man I just can't wait to look back
Who wouldn't I kill to be Dr. Emmett
Then I could travel time after 1.46 miles per minute
No point of getting ahead
When it’s so easy to slip behind
After all, it's just in the mind
So there it is
For all to see
That is the life of Mr. Jackie
