Does anyone use Trillian? I love it. Trillian has AIM, YIM, MSN, and IRC all combined into one program. It does not let spyware or adware in like AIM or YIM. The good version costs money... but I did not pay.

Here is a snopshot of it. It's in my skin though. And I blurred out the names on purpose.

And an IM window of it in my skin. Blurred out too.

I do not like Trillian because it eats my RAM, I like Gaim because it isn't as hard on my computer.

Although I have Win ME on a 450mhz computer, it runs fine. Trillian is a ram lifesaver for me. The only problem I have is a little lag when closing. I highly recommend it. I don't understand why people don't like it. www.trillian.cc Either go download the free version, buy the pro version, or (if you're into it) go download it off of Kazza.

I got it last night.... or sometime yesterday. I'm confused on uploading my ICQ number. It seems like I can only choose between AIM or ICQ, then when I put in the ICQ password, trillian says its too long. But the site accepted the password as okay.

Or just do a google search, you'll be sure to find it on the first page..

It's funny seeing people using Trillian, especially 13 year old kids, it's like "I'm invincible from being booted" but then there are so many crashes for it it's not even funny.

that case most likely has to do with a corrupt avatar from the speaker. delete the avatar folder and then see if it works.

I only have a problem with Trillian on XP when i close it...might have something todo with reinstalling it then copying over my program files for it from Win ME...:)

ye thats what i'm talkin about...turned off all of the transitions and other junk that XP comes extra with to help with poor speeds.

It still is a beast for CS...I changed alot of the configs in there and managed to get an extra 10fps out of it....i'm officially back up to 60fps with a 16mb vid card LOL

I also just got a free 64mb stick of RAM which kicks butt because alls I had for the past 7 years was 92mb :P

BTW, I already fixed the problem by: Going back to ME?!?!!?
Ye I had to. Parents were complaining about slow program launches (ex. IE taking 1 min to open a window) I never experienced any of this, but was forced to go back to my 9gig hd for the time being.

http://www.techdepot.com/pro/product.asp?P...CatID=1&IID=855 - You should buy that computer, it's cheap and pretty nice and yeah XP is very slow on old computers but fast on the newer ones.

Doesn't it have ICQ too? There's two problems though:

1: My dad says I can't have any of those
2: I don't think it works with my opperating system.

1. Tell your dad that it is more efficient/costs nothing compared to making a phone call. All of the instant messengers (except for Trillian Pro) are free. If he's letting you onto a forum, I don't see why he wouldn't let you tank on AIM.
2. It will work with every operating system you'd have unless it's a mac or linux machine.
3. Yes, it has ICQ.

ICQ=IRC=AIM=MSN=YAHOO=ALL CHAT CLIENTS

RedHat, I'm (hopefully) going to be building the computer that is in the link in my sig
Will run xp fine i think :P

That's because most people don't dedicate their lives to finding out vunerabilities in IM systems.

now just delete C:\Program Files\Trillian\users\default\buddyicons and set icon download in the options area to autoaccept
