The shock of 2005 is here: My favorite system. I hate Nintendo but then I love Nintendo. I hate it because they ruined their line of good consoles with the Gamecube. Gamecube is good, but compared to the other' New Generation Consoles', it's not even in the race. But I do love Nintendo for creating the Super Nintendo. The SNES is by far the milestone that set gaming in its right place. As Kevin said, the N64 did spawn some of the greatest games, but the SNES really took it a step further. One thing I honestly HATE is people that say the old systems suck because of graphics. Graphics have never given me any concern about a game. A game's overall is based on Gameplay and Plot. Continuing:
Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the N64, but it didn't quite live up to what the SNES did. N64 is trailing by a few centimeters. though, keep that in mind. I also really like the Playstation. It came out in 94, around the same time SNES came out, and remained a favorite until 2002, and for some still today. The reason I like PS so much is because of their mainstream RPG's. I'm a huge RPG/Strategy freak, and Sony has the 1up on RPG's than any other system ever created (SNES, too, guys). Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy V-IX (FF Anthology), Legend of Legaia, Legend of Dragoon, Star Ocean, Legend of Dragoon, Breath of Fire, Threads of Fate, Jade Cocoon, and Vagrant Story just to name a few. PS2 still holds onto that Square-Enix RPG Liscense, which is why PS2 is my favorite of the new consoles. But yes, overrall, it's the SNES by far.
EDIT: Oh, and copycat, you said that most of the Gamecube games are made for little kids. Well, some of them are *intended* for little kids, but that's a stereotype saying that GCN's games are made for kids.
