the whole idea is to stay away from conformity and labeling, so how does giving yourself a genre make you goth??

Most Goths who people dont call posers, do not consiter themselves Gothic. They do not fit into the typical attitude most people think Goths have. Being a Satanic is different then being Gothic, though the style of clothing does seem to over lap. Religon has nothing to do with any type of style.

The only people i know who call themselves goths, are the scummiest and most disgusting people ever. they arent growing out of it, either.
but hten i know plenty of people who would generally be considered goth, but i jsut hink of them,a nd they just think of themselves as "sam" or "hazel" or whoever they are.

you grow out of labeling youself and others, in most cases anyways :biggrin:

Well I do not believe Raven is gothic just depressed.  I mean that dark blue cloak?  Just her superhero outfit.  Why can't we smile more often?  I can't I'm depressed alot in my life too.  But we can not understand what the point in frowning and crying is.  Why can't we all be more like Italians?  Italians love life.

TRUE GOTHS: Worship the devil and perform satanic rituals, they also dress all black and stuff.
FAKE GOTHS: Dress all black and stuff but do not worship the devil and perform satanic rituals.

There are a lot more fake than true goths as well.
