A G5 is faster then a Pentium 4 3.5, because a G5 is a 64bit processer and a Pentuim 4 is a 32bit processer. A Pentuim with 2.4GHZ would have a hard time beating an iMac. With 1.25GHZ. A 32bit processer has less a smaller data path.

First off, if you read my post thoroughly. I never said Pentium were the fastest. AMDs are. And the AMD Opteron is a 64 bit.

I'll make a better post on this when I'm not so tired, but the speed in gigahertz doesn't equal the performance.  Thats why an FX or Athlon 64 at 2.0 ghz or a G5 at 2.0 ghz can outperform a Pentium 4 at 3 ghz.

No, it doesnt mean it equals 4 ghz. It means it can do more stuff at once, but its definitely not 4 GHZ.

I added some blue LEDs to my window today.  I tried doing it while my computer was on, but one of the wires touched the case.  It shot off a few sparks and the computer shut off.  So, I wired it while it was off and turned it back on.  It works now :wink:
