Origination Of Your Name

So, how did your parents choose the name to give you? Has it passed on for generations in your family? Is it biblical? Is there any purpose behind it?

My dad saw my first and middle name together in a newspaper when he was in Colorado, and thought that the names sounded good together...so that's how I got my name. Strange, I know..

my mom picked out my first name because she liked the name. and my dad picked out my middle name b/c he wanted something "christ-like" so he chose marie which is form of mary. my name means "victory of the people" and its the greek form of nicholas. yeah i had to research my name for a project. theres a place online you can go and find that.

It was all just randomness for my parents naming me.  But I'm a bit confused as to what my name actually means - is it short for Anastacia, or is it a Greek word for either 'resurrection' of 'fruitful'.  My second name, 'Elenor', on the other hand was named to me after my great grandmother.

I once asked my mother why she gaveme the name of Megan and she was like...because I just liked it.

But she named my sister after her favorite author. Funky huh.

My dad's late father was named Stephen.  So, Stephen became my name.

since I want the mystery of my name to remain a mystery I will tell you why I chose my nick name to be "spongehead 32"

after my brother spongehead91 joined and told me how cool the forum was I joined but couldnt think of a name so I just took my brothers idea for a name "spongehead" and put the number "32" after it randomly as he did  for "91"

I'm not saying the origination of my name, because it's a secret.
April Fool: I'm the April Fool. What's up with that?
Timmy: It's official, this guy sucks. I wish he was somewhere else!
*Poof!*
Timmy: Where'd you guys poof him to?
*Both fairies give evil smiles*
April Fool: I never asked for this!
Jorgen: Shut up, or I'll have Chuck Norris roundhouse kick you in the face again!

Mr. Krabs: Do you smell it..that smell...a kind of smelly smell...a smelly smell that smells smelly. Anchovies.
Squidward: What?
Mr. Krabs: ANCHOVIES!
Anchovies: MEEP, MEEP, MEEP.

I probably won't be on here too much being in college and all. I will try to pop on every once in a while though to share my thoughts.

I don't know where mine came from, but my mom and dad argued about what my name should be. My dad wanted it to be Ricky. My mom wanted it to be Oscar. So they fliped a coin. Heads: Ricky. Tails: Oscar. It landed on heads. :mf_heads_or_tails:
