On Saturday, Oct. 2, the kid-friendly Nickelodeon cable channel will go dark for three hours. A graphic will appear on the screen urging youngsters to go outside and play.

To me this is a good idea but no one is going outside because they will be watching it...

Nick is a hypocrite. They tell us to go outside and play. But they also want us to go to Nick.com to Splat all day. -_- to both.

"lets just play" is digusting. 10 years ago they encouraged kids to pick up trash with their "The Big help" campaign. They gave up on that because of the overweight epidemic in the US. So, "lets just play" is here now. Why kids cant  motivate themselves to get out there and know what the outside world looks like, is beyond me. I'd play Sega, but goodness, I didnt make it my life. Kids are lazy, no 3 hour blank screen will substitute that. Blank screen means, PS2 or, XBOX goes on or, cartoon network. Parents need to motivate the kids, counting your money doesnt help much, sorry.
