What do you think about the usa
« on: June 11, 2005, 05:30:04 pm »
Well im very angered at this nation. Reasons are, Its all about money and power, bascily nothing can be made in the USA anymore, most is made in china whitch(sp?) is depressing, We are the fattest nation, We have fastfood resturants, We cant even sue them becuase are friggin congress has made ghetto laws so we cant, We also have a nazi prison camp AKA wal-mart.

I have many more reasons but im to angry to post them

There is no such thing as peace and there never will be. Peace is a delusion believed by the weak. Gandhi said : "An eye of an eye would leave the whole world blind". So be it because only a blind world can experience the peace that it deserves. But there in lay the sick irony. Who will be able to see this peace? The human species is at war. The enemy walks among us nearly invisible. Only those with true discernment can see them. But only one with discernment and vision can show them to others

We're the fattest nation because we choose to be. It's true that there is a McDonalds or a Wendy's on every block, but it's you that makes the choice to eat there, and to eat the amount of food that you do. How can you justify forming a lawsuit against a company for making you food? America is the land of opportunity. People get up everyday to make a living, just like it happens in other countrys. You seem forget that some other countries don't have the privilage of labor unions, child labor laws, minimum wage, and other things that you apparently take for granted. It's not really America's fault that Wal-Mart exists. It's true that Wal-Mart is evil, but the government doesn't own Wal-Mart.

While I do agree self control is needed, people need more education on healthy living too.

There are plenty of oppurtunities for America to stop Wal-Mart, just look at the restrictions on corporations.

I don't much like the US of A. First off, what gives them the right to call themselves "Americans"? For, you see...Canada is in North America, as well as Mexico, Brazil is in South America...and let's not forget Central America.

But more importantly, I do not like the US because of how they treat other countries, namely their neighbour to the North. Americans know nothing, really, about our country, let alone our politics, while we Canadians know pretty much almost as much as you know about your own country, especially your politics. When Bill Clinton's biography came out, our CANADIAN library ordered five copies in English, two large print copies, and at least three in French. I wonder how many American libraries have Jean Chrétien's biography?
Also, the issue with the BSE. America blames it on Canada, when it is scientifically proven that it originated in a farm in....MONTANA. So, why is the Canadian beef industry feeling the impact that should be affecting Americans? Well, because America can't accept being wrong. Ever. Canadians/Britain won the War of 1812, but before they could declare victory, the US offered a peace treaty. Britain, and especially the colony of Canada just LOOOOVE peace!
Americans also love to stereotype Canadians. I was once asked if I owned a fridge, if I had a 'Canadian' accent, and if it ever gets warm over here (for the record it was 98 degress Farenheit today, so YES it gets hot over here). Americans are amazingly naive when it comes to world matters, unless the matter concerns them. The country, as a whole, has a very itchy trigger finger, which scares me as well.
Also, your current president, when interviewed by This Hour Has 22 Minutes (satirical sitcom) and was not told in advance who Rick Mercer actually was, and what he was doing, answered, truthfully that he, and Jean Poutine, our...prime minister, were good friends. Well, dear Georgie...if you truly were good friends with dear Jean, you'd know his last name is Chrétien.

*breathes* I have more to say, but I think I've had enough of trashing our neighbour to the South. I'm going to go back to being a nice, amiable Canadian who invites you to try REAL maple syrup, even though I personally hate it. Oh, and milk comes in a bag tooo!!

i think that individually, there are plenty of fantastic americans. its just the bad ones are always the ones that stick.
as a whole, america embodies the fat, stupid, ignorant blind self-worship that the rest of hte world sees. and tho the rest of the world will have people ike that, america has lots. dunno why.

even the religion (yeah, sorry about this, its jsut one sentance) is pompus. "WE are religious, arent WE clever" instead of caring about hte faith in general.

i know im sterotyping, but i cant go round america and meet all of you face to face.
most of you guys are from the usa, and the majority of you are really cool.
its jsut hte "im open minded, untill you say somthing that i dont like" thing that gets me. just cos you say your respectfull, doesnt mean that you are.
(i dont know who "you" is, just, umm, people, i spose)
where i am, to cal someone americanised is a huge insult.
it means processed factory knock offs with no individuality.

I think the USA is one of the greatest countries in the world in terms of opportunity, but the overwhelming number of people that take things for granted cloud it up. For you all complaining about the country I want you to go live in almost any other country in the world and see how many restrictions they have there. We have so much freedom in this country it's not even funny and those of you that disagree are either too stuck up to realize it or you just take way too many things for granted (talking about people that live in the country, of course)

Well on the movie super size me these girls who ate mcdonalds got fat and they wanted to sue mcdonalds but they couldnt prove how it got them fat and at the end they said congress also made it so you cant sue a fast food resturant for making you fat.

We choose to be the fattest nation? well that also means were the dumbest nation we should know that obessity(sp?) causes health problems.

This nation is eventally not gonna be the land of oppurtunity(dtms?) most of the companys wanna be richer so they will move overseas and produce cheap junk in china and pay their employees 15c an day

I know how it got them fat, it got them fat because McDonalds serves a lot of fatty foods and the girls choice to eat it. If you're going to say McDonalds should stop serving this food because it makes people unhealthy then start making a better argument for cigarettes and alcohol as well. We're the fattest nation because the majority of our people have access to unhealthy foods quite often and most of us don't care that we're becoming unhealthy. I do, myself, but I don't constantly worry about it.
This country will be a land of opportunity for many years to come because if it gets as drastic as you're thinking then the workers over there will begin demanding money and the whole moving process will become pointless.
You really take too much stuff for granted.

your freedoms are getting restriced tho, with all the religion based government reforms coming through. i DO NOT wanna start another religion/abortion debate.
but it is happening.

australia nad nz have just as much opportuiny and freedom. more maybe cos we are so small.
tho yeah, i would definatly rather live in usa htan inda or somthing, womans rights wise.

the thing i get from americans, is that there is always this need to validate, and jsutify yourselves.
tho, now that i think of my uni usa mate, maybe thats not strictly true.
i dunno, its hard to talk about a country, cos its made up of people. the only standard are the laws and stuff, which we talk enough about already

Hannah's right. It's not the environment, it's the environment... people. If I were president, everyone would take baths, and if they didn't guess what? You'd be hung. Or crucified. Or both. Smelly Americans.

This is a song by the Descendents that pretty much sums up my feelings towards America.

"'Merican"

We flipped our finger to the king of england
Stole our country from the indians
With god on our side and guns in our hands
We took it for our own
A nation dedicated to liberty
Justice and equality
Does it look that way to you?
It doesn't look that way to me
The sickest joke I know

[Chorus]
Listen up man, I'll tell you who I am
Just another stupid american
You don't wanna listen
You don't wanna understand
So finish up your drink and go home

I come from the land of Ben Franklin
Twain and Poe and Walt Whitman
Otis Redding, Ellington,
The country that I love
But it's a land of the slaves and the ku klux klan
Haymarket riot and the great depression
Joe McCarthy, Vietnam
The sickest joke I know

[Chorus]

I'm proud and ashamed
Every fourth of july
You got to know the truth
Before you say that you got pride

Now the cops got tanks 'cause the kids got guns
Shrinks pushin' pills on everyone
Cancer from the ocean, cancer from the sun
Straight to Hell we go

[Chorus 2x]

YES! I'M NOT THE ONLY DESCENDENTS FAN ON THIS FORUM!

Anyway, these days I dislike America. We have become very naive and stupid.
